The annual Breast Cancer course now has four editions, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
The course in 2024 will be held on October 12th and 13th in the Meeting Hall of the “Dr. Shterev” Medical Complex (8th floor). The aim of the course is to familiarize the interns and young doctors with the path of breast cancer patients in Bulgaria; to provide specialized training in performing fine-needle biopsy of breast lesions under ultrasound guidance and basic recommendations in HPV vaccine prophylaxis. Our special guests are Dr. Birgit Amort and Dr. Silke Haushamer from the Department of Breast Imaging at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. For more information click here.
The course in 2023 will be held on September 23 and 24 in the Meeting Hall of the “Dr. Shterev” Medical Complex (8th floor). The aim of the course is to familiarize trainees and junior doctors with screening recommendations for breast and cervical cancer; to provide training in performing core needle biopsy of breast lesions and guidance in reading the results of cervix cytology and HPV testing.. Our special guests are Dr. Birgit Amort and Dr. Silke Haushamer from the Department of Breast Imaging at the University of Innsbruck (Austria).
The course in 2022 was held on September 24 and 25 in the Meeting Hall of the “Dr. Shterev” Medical Complex (8th floor). The aim of the scientific event was to expand the training opportunities for Bulgarian specialists and young doctors involved in the care of patients with breast cancer. The program consisted of four scientific sessions and two practical workshops (Thick needle biopsy of lesions and of the breast and Balint’s group) presented by sixteen Bulgarian and international lecturers. The course in 2021 was held on September 13 together with Pleven Medical University and was part of the XVIII International Medical Scientific Conference for students and young doctors.
